💬 Our Story
Hi, we’re Jessica and Trevor — the duo behind Type1K9.
This site was born out of love and necessity after our dog, Freyja, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Like many pet owners, we were overwhelmed. We spent hundreds of dollars at the vet, scoured forums, watched videos, and pieced together everything we could — just trying to keep our girl healthy and happy.
What we found was frustrating: no single place had all the practical, easy-to-understand information we needed. There were scattered articles, outdated advice, and lots of fluff. Nothing felt clear, actionable, or tailored for real pet owners.
So we decided... If we couldn't find the resource we needed -- we'd build it.
